My name is Jarett Sanchez and I am a Democratic candidate running for County Board District #24.  I bring a unique perspective to my work and I consider my life goal to be helping create conditions for "the better world that our hearts tell us is possible."

My grandparents were one of the first Hispanic families in the Carpentersville area in the late 1950s.  At that time it was socially challenging for non-White families to maintain their heritage and children would be beaten up simply for speaking Spanish.  Now, Carpentersville has a more than 50% Hispanic population and children of all ethnic backgrounds grow up together with no consideration of race.

I have always had a strong dislike for injustice and I often champion the underdog.  Like most people, I believe that it is far too easy for politicians to get away with corruption, and I long for the day when transparency in governmental decision-making is a standard practice.

I grew up in East Dundee, graduated from Dundee-Crown High School,  and currently reside in Carpentersville near the locally-famous Village Pizza.  I have two sons, Austin and Elliot.
